Free WhatsApp link and QR code generator

Short answer

A WhatsApp link is https://wa.me/ followed by your full number in international format, without a plus sign, spaces or the leading 0: for a UAE mobile, https://wa.me/971501234567. Add ?text= and a URL-encoded message to pre-fill the chat. This free tool builds the link and a QR code for you (checked Oct 2026).

Updated

Type your number and, if you like, the first message customers should send you. You get a wa.me link that opens a chat with you in one tap, and a QR code for your shop window, menu or flyer. It works with WhatsApp and the WhatsApp Business app, and it is made in your browser: nothing you type is sent to us or saved.

How to use it

1

Pick the country, type your number

The UAE (+971) is picked already. Type the number the way you would say it, 050 123 4567 or +971 50 123 4567, in English or Arabic digits. The tool removes the spaces, the plus sign and the 0 in front, which WhatsApp’s link format leaves out.

2

Add a first message (optional)

Whatever you type appears in the customer’s message box, ready to send. Arabic, English, emoji and line breaks all work, because the tool URL-encodes the text for you.

3

Copy the link, download the QR code

Tap Test it to open the chat on your own phone first. Download the QR code as SVG for printing (it stays sharp at any size) or as PNG for posts, slides and documents.

How a wa.me link works

WhatsApp’s click-to-chat link is the address https://wa.me/ followed by a phone number in full international format: the country code and the number, with no plus sign, no zeros in front, no brackets and no dashes. A UAE mobile written 050 123 4567 becomes https://wa.me/971501234567. Whoever taps it gets a chat with that number without saving it as a contact first, on their phone or on WhatsApp Web.

To pre-fill the message, WhatsApp adds ?text= and the message, URL-encoded. Encoding turns spaces, line breaks, Arabic letters, emoji and symbols such as &, # and + into codes: a space becomes %20, and the Arabic word «مرحبا» becomes %D9%85%D8%B1%D8%AD%D8%A8%D8%A7. English letters, numbers and a few marks such as full stops and exclamation marks stay as they are. Arabic or spaces pasted straight into a link by hand can break it or cut the message short; the generator does the encoding for you.

The link only opens the chat. Nothing is sent until the customer taps Send, and they can change the message first. The conversation is with your normal WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business number, so it lands in the same inbox as every other chat.

Where to put your link and QR code

Instagram and TikTok bios

Put the link in your bio so followers can message you in one tap. A pre-filled line like “Hi, I saw your post” tells you where the chat came from.

Shop window, counter and menus

Print the QR code with a white margin around it, big enough to scan from where people stand, and test it with two different phones before printing a batch.

Your website and email signature

Use the link as a “Chat on WhatsApp” button on your contact page and under your email signature, so people on their phones can write instead of call.

Flyers, receipts and delivery notes

A QR code on a receipt or delivery note brings repeat orders and questions straight to WhatsApp. Use a different first message for each one so you know which worked.

Write a first message that gets a reply

Keep the pre-filled message short and in the customer’s words: “Hi, I’d like to book an appointment” works better than a long paragraph, and a short message also keeps the QR code simple to scan. If most of your customers write in Arabic, write it in Arabic; the link handles it.

Then make sure someone, or something, answers quickly. A customer who taps your link at 11pm and hears nothing until morning may well message a competitor too. The WhatsApp auto-reply messages guide has replies you can copy, and if you plan to message these customers again later, read how to send WhatsApp broadcasts safely first.

Count the chats each link brings

A plain wa.me link can’t tell you how many people used it. If you use OrcaFlo, Growth Tools in your panel makes a short tracked link and QR code for each place you promote your business, and counts the clicks and the conversations each one starts. Those chats are answered by OrcaFlo’s AI assistant in Arabic or English, on the number you already use: see features and pricing.

OrcaFlo links to your WhatsApp Business app by QR code, the way WhatsApp Web does. It isn’t Meta’s official API or an official WhatsApp app, so there is no green tick and some risk that WhatsApp restricts or bans the number; a WhatsApp chatbot without the API explains the trade-off and how OrcaFlo keeps that risk down.
