Connect another messaging app

If your customers use a messaging app OrcaFlo doesn’t support yet, your developer can connect it as a custom channel. Those chats then work like WhatsApp: the same AI, inbox, contacts and follow-ups.

Updated

How it works

  • Your developer creates the channel with an API key and connects your app to OrcaFlo.
  • Customer messages from that app arrive in OrcaFlo, and the AI answers them.
  • The chats appear in your panel with your other conversations, marked as a custom channel.

What your developer does

1

Create the channel

With an API key that has the channels:manage permission, create a channel with a name and a callback address on your side. OrcaFlo returns the channel id and a signing secret, shown once.

2

Forward customer messages

A small “bridge” on your side sends each customer message to the channel’s inbound address (permission channels:inbound). Message ids are de-duplicated, so a retry never creates a double.

3

Deliver the replies

OrcaFlo sends each reply to your callback address, signed so your bridge can check it really came from OrcaFlo, and your bridge posts it in your app.

What you get on that channel

The same assistant

It answers from the same instructions, products and knowledge as on WhatsApp.

The same inbox

Your team sees the chats next to WhatsApp, can take over with one tap and hand back.

The same CRM and follow-ups

Every chat becomes a contact with a stage, and follow-ups and hand-over work as usual.

For your developer

The technical guide, with a complete example bridge, is on the developers page under Custom channels.
